Reflection

It was a friday afternoon when I get to know the teacher Gina, I was afraid because I did not know how was it she. When she presented she was a friendly, that cute person, responsible, understanding, then stop being afraid; but even I was afraid because I was my turn to introduce myself and all my colleagues spoke very good English.

In this course I had many experiences for example talk about my skills, challanges, the charisma and the important the technology. They are very important issues that are related to the daily life of all people. When I got to talk about my skills I enjoyed it because I enjoy to help others people and experimenting every day to do something different. In this course I take new experiences, new expectations about the reality of life today.

After completing this course I am happy because I can say that I grew more as a person, I met new people with big hearts. It has been a difficult but I can say that not impossible. I am woman and mother a very happy, I love my family. Thanks God.

Thanks teacher !!!

Technology in dentristy

Technology in Dentistry

I like to read about of different systems or innovations that exist in dentistry.

Let´s imagine drinking a cup of coffee with our dentist while a computer is fixing our teeth. Now this is possible with the new technology called CAD/CAM. This is an acronym for a computer that helps dentists create dental functions. This technology was used bydesigners, but nowadays it hasbeen incorporated into dentistry. This is very useful for dentistsbecause it turns into a new possibility to do all dental works. The computer does all types of restorations and dental functions. This new advantage in dentistry is a big step for progress in dental technology.

But, how it functions? Well, the CAD/CAM is a computer in which you can do all type of prostheses by a photo of the mouth in 3D. It´s very easy, all the doctorshave to do is to scan a traditional model obtained from conventional impressions of the preparations. Nowadays people prefer a computer than a person for doingtheir things. This is a new option for people who fear dentists. This technology can be used by dentists and also by people who work in dental laboratories.

This technology can give people a lot of benefits. The computer can make stronger restorations and more natural teethIt is going to be easier for the doctor because they will not require traditional impressions. The procedure is done in only one appointment.  The patient only needs once local anesthetic for any necessary tooth preparations. The restoration done by this computer is going to last out more time than others done by a doctor. The procedures that the computer can do are many, for example, dental implants, missing teeth replacement, and also restorations.

Modals of deduction

Present modals of deduction

Must

We use must when we feel sure that something is true because we have some information about the situation. We have strong evidence.

must + infinitive without 'to'

Example
You have been working in the garden all day. You must be tired.

We use (might, may, could) when we are not sure about somenthing.

might/may/could+infinitive without 'to'

Example
We might need to work through the night if we want to get this ready on time.

Can't

We use 'can't' to show that we think something is not true.

can't + infinitive without 'to'

Example
They can't be very happy about working during the night.

Past modals of deduction

We can use modal verbs to talk about how sure or unsure we are about something in the past just as we use modals in the present with a slight change in the form.

Example
He must be really happy about his promotion. (present deduction)
He must have been very happy when he was told about his promotion. (past deduction)

Must have + past participle

We use ‘must have + past participle’ when we are quite sure about something.

Example
You must have been very pleased when you received the results of your exams.

Might have/may have/could have + past participle

We use ‘might have/may have/could have + past participle’ when we are not sure about something but we think it was possible.

Example
He was supposed to be here an hour ago but he could have been stuck in a traffic jam.

Can’t have + past participle

We use ‘can’t have + past participle’ for things that we are sure did not happen in the past.

Example
You can’t have seen him this morning. He was with me all the time.

The Technology

The technology

In the class we speak  about technology, so the technology nowdays is a controversial issue. Because it has brought a much problems. This topic is complicated, one of them are social networks.

The social networks misuse of them can make believe addictions, mainly in adolescents. According to studies, the time that teens spend online social networks increases the risk of smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs.

Social networks should be used in a proper way, because it brings many consequences:

  1. It produces a distance people from their normal lives.
  2. Cause distractions.
  3. Have a negative impact on cognitive abilities and health of people,
  4. They pose serious risks to the security of private data of people.
  5. Deceit, sexual harassment, pedophilia, obscenity, disguised under false or true profiles are other possible consequences that this addiction could bring.

Gerunds and infinitive

What is a gerund?

A gerund is a noun made from a verb by adding "-ing."  You can use a gerund as the subject, the complement, or the object of a sentence.

What is a infinitive?

Infinitives are the "to" form of the verb. You can also use an infinitive as the subject, the complement, or the object of a sentence.

"Both gerunds and infinitives can be used as the subject or the complement of a sentence. However, as subjects or complements, gerunds usually sound more like normal, spoken English, whereas infinitives sound more abstract."

In this video it is noted the uses different the gerund and infinitive, in different song:

This topic is confused, because some verbs take gerund or infinitive forms a difference in meaning:

Stop

+ infinitive: pause and then do something
+ gerund: not continue

Forget
+infinitive: not remember
+ gerund: you didn't do   something now you remember it

Regret
+ infinitive: feel sorry to give bad news
+ gerund: feel sorry for what you did in the past

Try
+ infinitive: make an effort to do something
+gerund: do something to see if it has an effect, try something new

Remember
+ infinitive: remember something and then do it
+ gerund: something happened in the past and now you remember it

This is a practice

The Charisma

The Charisma

In this class, I really liked the subject; because it speaks about charismatic people of the features you need a charismatic person, the different qualities they have; Or the possible targets to get to charismatic.

In this blog I will talk about certain qualities and characteristics I  should have a charismatic person:

First, one person  carismatica is a special power that some people have naturally that makes them able to influence other people and attract their attention and admiration. Charisma is a capability we can count on people to act in a good manner. The charisma is associated with success, both in ones workplace and personal capacity. When we are charismatic, things are easier.

Secondly, there are 5 things that make charismatic people:

  1. Charismatic people transmit happiness.
  2. Charismatic people inspire security.
  3. Charismatic people show conviction.
  4. Charismatic people are great storytellers.
  5. Charismatic people are empathetic.
Thirdly, the charismatic people have certain characteristics; for example:

  • They listen: they show others that are important to them. Everyone can bring you something important and have better ideas than yours.
  • They build confidence and inspire: they do not mind showing their mistakes to keep growing.
  • They are not conformists: sensing that something is wrong in their environment, they are able to make the necessary actions to correct it. They do not criticize others for not taking sides.
  • They are visionary people: It is not about having a good idea and that's it. It is developing an entire project around those ideas that makes you distinguish you from others.
  • They take risks and sacrifice: we must serve as an example for others.
  • They are creative people.
  • They talk about us and not me.

For me a charismatic person is the Mother Teresa of Calcutta, because it is a person who stood out for his generosity, industriousness, perseverance, faith, simplicity, fraternity, strength.

Mother Teresa was characterized by a kind woman be given to God. He taambièn give and dedicate his life to God and especially to dedicate his life to helping the needy.

Exercises

Conditional sentence type 1:

If + Simple Present, + Simple Future
Use

Conditional Sentences Type 1 refer to the future. An action in the future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We don't know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but the conditions seems rather realistic – so we think it is likely to happen.

Example:
If I have enough time, I'll watch the football match.

I may have time to watch the match but I'm not sure about it.

Conditional Sentence Type 2:

If + Simple Past, + would + base verb

Often called the "unreal" conditional because it is used for unreal impossible or improbable situations. This conditional provides an imaginary result for a given situation. It is very unlikely that the condition will be fulfilled.

Were / Was

In conditional type 2, we usually use in the if clause "were" instead of "was" even if the pronoun is I, he, sheor it. "were" here is a subjunctive form.

Example:

If I were a millionaire, I would buy a castle.

Use

Conditional Sentences Type 2 refer to an action in the present that could happen if the present situation were different. I don't really expect the situation to change because it is very unlikely.

Example:

If I had a lot of money, I would travel around the world.

Conditional Sentence Type 3

If + Past Perfect, + would + have + Past Participle

It is impossible that the condition will be met because it refers to the past.

Use

Conditional Sentences Type 3 refer to situations in the past. They express hypothetical results to past given situations.

Example:

If he had been careful, he wouldn't have had that terrible accident.

Sometimes in the past, he was careless. He drove so fast. So he had a terrible accident.

Challenges

This topic was nice because it  shared we have different opinions  about the topic. I  lived beautiful and ugly experiences, however to remember the good times I have lived in my childhood and adolescence.

I remember in elementary I liked parcipate in different activities and in the secondary as well. always I got achieve good grades.

It is curious to note that all people have different attitudes for attaining its challenges, that's good.

For example, I need have have vision, passion, courage, creativity, persistence. All this to overcome my challenges, sometimes difficult but if they can meet the challenges.

I like when in the class talk about these issues, because one learns to meet other people as they do to achieve success and the challenges. In this life everything is a challenge, everything is a target. I love seeing people with disabilities triumphing, because when I look I think that everything can achieve.

I love challenges
